As quickly as the sun rose, she would fall. She would fall into a circle of never ending emotions. Trying to be the perfect little girl wasn't working anymore. She was a people pleaser. All she wanted to do was get attention...and when she didn't get it, she would become frustrated.
One lovely summer evening, she became free.
She found freedom from the lies that she had bought into. That gaining approval from others brings full fulfillment.
She had been a believer for so many years, yet she never had grasped the idea of God's unconditional love and affection for her. That she didn't need to find it anywhere else. Until now.
"Lord when I try to go to other things to find fulfillment, and when things don't go according to my 'plans', will you please show me how your ways are better?"
That was the night she found freedom. But it wasn't just freedom for that moment, it was freedom for now, and forever. When the temptation would come back around, there would be tears of frustration, but eventually she would fall back into the hands of a God whose ways were much higher than her own.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways..." -Isaiah 55:9

I've been feeling this lately...
